We have lost a friend and a long time supporter of EABC. Chris Ludington passed away on Thursday, June 16.
Chris was involved with EABC since the late 1990's. He was the kindest, nicest person you'd meet. Chris worked (raced when the field was small enough) most of the races we hosted since the late 1990's. You probably met him when you were registering for a Ethan Allen Cup race, summer or winter. He was the guy behind the table in the Walker Bldg. Or, you might have heard him cheering you on in the penalty loop as he and Madeline tried to keep track of your penalty laps. You could have run into him as he and his son Tyler were warming up for a race, warming down from a race or just training at the range. His positive energy, dry, self-deprecating sense of humor, attention to detail and love for his family were characteristics you would notice immediately. Chris was also treasurer of our small Board of Directors. Despite living an hour away in Morrisville, Chris found the time to stay involved with EABC through the years. In addition, he was an integral part of our club and provided an important sense of continuity. Chris's untimely death leaves us with a profound sense of loss and memories of a very giving, loving person.
