Summer Series - Race 1 Report
The summer biathlon race series is under way! Fifteen athletes braved the brutal heat (for Vermont) and the swarms of dear flies, looking for warm bodies to feast on, to contest first race of the summer series. Sean Doherty shot well enough to hold off Derrek Schlultz on the last loop to take the overall win. Eli Walker continued the strong performance of New Hampshire athletes with a first in the Senior/Master group despite shooting below his abilities. Brennan Degen shot clean to take home the cookies for best shooting among the novices and Doug Bernard of the National Guard shot best among the experts to gobble up the other cookies. King Milne started strong in defense of last years Grand Master title and Melissa Manning has an early lead on her competitors in the woman's field.
